I was pretty much drawing a blank on what to write about ‘liberty’, which is today’s Just Jot it January word prompt, so I plugged it into Google to reach for some inspiration.

That’s how I found myself reading the text of Donald Trump’s commencement speech to the class of 2017 at Liberty University. Due to the limitations on word-choice imposed by common decency and propriety, I am not at liberty to say what I thought about that speech.

Suffice it to say that when I participated in the Women’s March yesterday, I was carrying a hot pink placard with black letters reading “I M P E A C H”…

It’s hard not to be political when the topic is liberty. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, right? I Googled that phrase, too, and found out that Jefferson cribbed the expression from the philosopher John Locke.
