Pride, we’re told, goes oft ‘fore crashes

Many times I’ve seen it so

Why, just days ago I boasted,

“Writing more!” – and since, you know,

Haven’t put out one good poem

This will bust my pen slump though

Just as long as I don’t tout it

Bragging, “Back on top the game!”

Therefore let’s make nothing of this

Lest pen quail from all the fame.
