Action

Following shot: Annabel carries hot tea from kitchen

Through dining room to parlor window seat

Exterior shot of farmhouse with Annabel in window

Rhythmic sound of shoes clopping together

Noon sun burns down

Overhead

On the porch steps sits a young boy banging his shoes together to break mud away

“Nathaniel!” yells the woman, “Come in out of the sun!”

Turning, the boy hollers back, “In a minute!”

Eventually, Nathaniel goes in.

Annabel sips her tea.
