Gosh. All the writing prompts and challenges seem really difficult to me this week.

Like these Share Your World questions from Monday:

What would be your ideal fantasy way to spend Monday?

What one person that you are out of contact with would you like to say thank you to?

List your favorite toys or games as a kid?

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

All I can think of is an ideal Monday on which the words all fall perfectly into place all day like Tetris pieces, completing line after wonderful line, faster and faster… which is an irony of sorts, considering that’s exactly what’s not happening for me at the moment. I mean… who to thank? I draw a blank. My deceased uncle maybe, or his living sister? My second grade teacher? I just don’t know. I do know that I was a Lego kid. Favorite toy for sure. But as to what I may especially have appreciated in the past week, again I am  for the most part bewildered. I guess I have appreciated how swiftly the professionals are moving on my sleep apnea diagnosis. I have an appointment already tomorrow to be fitted for a mask, and I am hoping to get a machine right then and have my first decent sleep in over a dozen years tomorrow night! Yeah, that makes me smile. 😀

See? It’s like pulling teeth this week, getting myself to rise to the prompts…

…or the weekly poetry prompt from kiwinana:

Use “spring & joy”  to write a poem – Any form, your choice.

…but maybe if I combine the two…

Bricky streets are a treat to the eye

But a terror to the tippy toes,

As knows all too well any sensibly pink-tutu’d girl

Whose joyous art has compelled her to springing,

boundingly spinning, and/or high-stepping around

Upon cobblestone or the like

Before,

Which is (or so at least I suspect) precisely why

This particular, doubtless talented

and could-be, would-be preciously performing

girl

Frowns down so

At the broken stones below her skirts.

She knows how it hurts

From experience.

And here I peer on, in suspense,

Hoping she won’t –

Knowing she damn well might…

Oh delicious dread!

…which brings to mind a late entry for One-Liner-Wednesday:

“Sometimes it takes a village to raise a blog post.”
