forking over the money
for a ticket to ride the antiquey
steam train across town

thinking about how steam power works
heating water to create pressure
to work pistons and such

I looked down at the dollars clutched in my fist
and it occurred to me that they created pressure too
to power this whole little tourist trap

the whole place was a money engine!
in that moment it all felt fake
until i glanced back at my family

they were all having a fun time
making good memories, you know
not fake ones, real ones

and the train really ran on steam
which was actually pretty amazing
steam engines are very quiet
